WHAT IS IT?
Who qualifies for Children's SSI?
• Awarded based on income/resource limitations AND finding of “Disabled” as defined by Social Security.
• Income and resource limits must be met as outlined in SSI discussion above.

These requirements must be met for a child to be found disabled:
• Must not be working and earning over $1,000.00/month (2010)
• Must have a physical or mental condition or combination of conditions that results in “marked and severe functional limitations” as defined by Social Security.
• Condition or combination of conditions must have lasted, or be expected to last, at least 12 months or be expected to end in death.
